About the facility
The Safety, Quality and Improvement (SQI) Unit's role at Barwon Health is to support and guide staff to provide the best possible care for our consumers and foster a culture of excellence. Unit responsibilities include:
- Clinical Governance and Risk Management
- Consumer Experience and Partnering with Consumer Advisors
- Monitoring and Implementing Healthcare and Clinical care Standards
- Clinical Auditing
About the role
This position will work as part of the Consumer Liaison team which is a patient facing service that receives and co-ordinates the response to feedback and complaints from consumers and their families. The Consumer Liaison Officer (CLO) is responsible for the facilitation and coordination of feedback and complaint investigation in order to achieve resolution of consumer concerns.You will have experience in a health setting and excellent listening and communication skills and strong negotiation and co-ordination abilities as you liaise with the clinical teams who investigate and participate in forming responses to the concerns raised. The aim is to address and resolve issues raised for the consumer and to identify opportunities for learning and improvement for the health service. The CLO also supports the Open Disclosure and Statutory Duty of Candour meetings associated with Serious Adverse Patient Safety Events.
