Your new company

Our client is a national multidisciplinary consultancy that provides innovative solutions for a diverse range of clients on exciting projects. Currently, we are looking for a senior Environmental Engineer with demonstrated experience in Contaminated Land projects. The new consultant will focus on projects in Adelaide projects, but can work form Melbourne/Brisbane/Adelaide or Darwin!

Your new role

The role will be predominately office based with field work as required. You will have a strong understanding of Contaminated Land principals and local regulatory compliance. Key activities will include project, staff and client management with occasional site contamination assessments and remediation projects. Proposal preparation, technical reporting as well as technical input in relation to their areas of specialisation will also form a key part of the role.

  • Conducting site assessments to identify potential sources of contamination.
  • Proficiency in high quality fieldwork and using a variety of sampling techniques and equipment.
  • Fieldwork planning including safety protocols and checks.
  • Preparing comprehensive technical reports and presentations for clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Procurement and supervision of subcontractor services.
  • Support with proposal preparation and budgeting.
  • Keeping up to date with environmental regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and the application of best practices.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A tertiary degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Environmental Management or related qualification
  • Solid knowledge of Contaminated Land principles, soil, groundwater and soil vapour sampling methodologies and regulatory guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with clients and other key stakeholders to ensure thorough environmental advice and successful project delivery.
  • Experience in a similar position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to undertake field work as may be required
  • Strong team player
  • Experience in training and mentoring more junior staff
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
