About the Role: Victorian Opera is seeking a talented Content Editor to curate and refine content across various platforms, including website, social media, and newsletters. As the Content Editor, you will play a crucial role in crafting compelling narratives that communicate Victorian Opera's mission, achievements, educational activities, and upcoming projects. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in messaging, while also engaging with external stakeholders to amplify our presence and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and create content across multiple platforms, digital and printed, to effectively communicate Victorian Opera's communications and marketing objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and develop engaging content that resonates with target audiences.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in messaging across all communication channels, including websites, social media, and newsletters.
- Monitor media coverage and analyze performance metrics to refine communication strategies and measure the impact of campaigns.
- Manage crisis communication by addressing and managing media inquiries in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in content creation, media relations, public relations, or communications, preferably within the arts and culture sector.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and engaging content.
- Proficiency in utilising various communication channels, including traditional media, digital platforms, and social media.
- An understanding of writing for SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and the latest trends in web search topics.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute creative campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
- Experience or understanding of crisis communication and handling sensitive issues with tact and professionalism.
- Highly organised, with excellent project management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for the arts and a genuine appreciation for opera's cultural impact.
