STATUS: Ongoing

HOURS: Part Time, 48.0 hours per fortnight

Applications are sought from skilled Registered Nurses with experience in continence management to gain a contract with our Community Health Nursing team.

The Position:

In this role you will work within the regional Continence Advisory Service to deliver specialist continence nursing assessment to all client groups as well as providing education and support for staff and raising awareness about bladder and bowel management with the community.

The Department:

The BRHS Continence Service provides up to date assessment skills and management strategies to a clientele with diverse needs, including NDIS and children with a disability. The service follows the Active Service Model principles endeavouring to meet the clients' expectations, encouraging client participation in their care and promoting independence.

What you need:

  • Experience in continence management including catheter management
  • A good knowledge of bladder and bowel dysfunction and good continence nursing assessment and evaluation skills
  • An ability to provide person centred care and goal setting within an Active Service Model of practice
  • Demonstrated ability to provide appropriate health education and promotion
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people in both a verbal, written and electronic manner
  • A minimum 5 years nursing experience with experience in community health nursing an advantage
  • Post Graduate qualifications in continence nursing or willing to undertake same
