CONTRACT CATERER - EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

Guildford Bowling Club (the Club) is seeking a suitably qualified Contract Caterer to undertake the catering contract in the club. The club is currently undergoing minor renovations to the facilities and amenities. 

The Club has a strong community focus and is part of the Merrylands Bowling Group with over 20,000 members. The Guildford Club is open Seven days a week with a bistro, one function room, two bowling greens and has 53 gaming machines. 

The Club operates within an exciting and dynamic environment, with daily, weekly, and special events and we would like to offer our patrons a dining experience with a focus on quality and presentation. 

Our Senior Management team will offer support to our caterer and work together as a team to ensure only the best customer service delivery.

The kitchen has all the facilities allowing versatility and the ability to cook for large numbers. These facilities include multiple workstations and a functional layout, all facilities that you would expect for a Club of our size.

The Bistro seats up to 82 people inside and 38 people outside. The Club has one (1) Function Room with separate holding/service kitchen that cater for all types of functions, from small groups to events of up to 100 people.

The kitchen facilities include.

• Walkin freezer and cool room combined
• 2 x 3 burner Wok station
• Dishwasher
• 3 - door bench fridge
• 3 - door bench chiller
• 6 - burner gas stove
• Burner hotplate/ grill
• Deep fryer
• Microwaves
• Toaster oven
• 2 x Prep stations

New Caterer

To be considered all applicants must meet the following criteria.

• Have a proven track record of providing meals of high quality and a wide variety at competitive prices.
• Ensure food offered in the club to our members comply with the Australian Food Standards.
• Be fully conversant with HACCP, WHS and all other relevant legislations relating to food, hygiene, and employment.
• A value menu concept is encouraged with focus on young families and local residents.
• Ability to provide daily specials at reasonable prices.
• Ability to cater for the bistro and functions up to 180 persons simultaneously.
• Have excellent time management. 
• Flexibility and willingness to work with the Club Group’s promotional initiatives.
• Ability to build good relations with members and guests both through service delivery.
• Ensuring employment of well-trained staff who are committed to customer service.
• Collaboration with Management to ensure outstanding service delivery. 
• Develop a good working relationship with all stakeholders.
• Demonstrate strong business acumen to grow the business.
• Be focused on longevity.

We would prefer the new caterer to commence in March/April 2024.

We are looking for a contractor who is willing to invest in a long-term business relationship. We realise that the more successful our caterer is, the more successful our venue will be. 

We are offering the following. 

• Six (6) year term (3 + 3 years)
• 6-month commission free period 
• Marketing campaign to launch the new outlet.

The Caterer will be responsible for the following expenses:

• Responsible for payment of gas and grease trap expenses
• Kitchen staff wages
• Food costs
• Cleaning of all kitchens and BOH areas
• Insurance - Workers Compensation, Public Liability etc.
• 6% commission on net sales (after commission free period) 

The Caterer is to supply fully trained staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service.

The Club is looking for a highly skilled versatile Caterer who has the ability to vary the menu and offera variety of popular food styles for both a la carte dining and functions.

Our aim is to foster a long-term, positive working relationship. In the interests of transparency, the following things will need to be taken in to account when submitting your application:

• We expect the new caterer to use our POS system.
• We expect our new caterer to offer our guests membership benefits such as tiered discounts and points redemptions, which will be supported by the club.
• We expect our caterer to attend meetings to foster a progressive and positive working relationship.

The Management are willing to discuss and negotiate terms and conditions to secure the right Caterer who will deliver the best service.
