About The Opportunity
As a Contract Inspector within our Major Projects Branch, you will support the delivery of Council's construction and maintenance programs by ensuring contractors adhere to contractual and quality standards. This role will involve overseeing compliance, maintaining quality assurance, coordinating programs, resolving issues and managing documentation.
You will also assist with the scoping and planning of projects, forecasting and the coordination of resource requirements.
About You

  • Demonstrated high level experience supervising the contract delivery of complex construction projects within time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Well-developed knowledge of construction industry work practices, procedures and guidelines including Workplace Health and Safety, Traffic and Environmental management.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret design plans and specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake site investigations including taking accurate measurements and taking and reducing levels.
  • Experience working with general form and relational contractual arrangements.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills.
  • High level negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Appropriate construction industry licenses and certificates.
  • A current ‘C’ class driver’s license.
  • Certificate or trade qualification relevant to the construction industry would be highly regarded.
  • Ability to interpret contractual documentation would be highly regarded.
