To support our continued success - the Queensland Eye Institute has a fantastic opportunity for a professional and motivated experienced Ophthalmic Clinical Assistant or Optometrist / Orthoptist to join our expanding Clinical Trials Team.
With cutting edge ophthalmic equipment and a growing patient database the Queensland Eye Institute is excelling in clinical trial research. Supported by a team of professionals that have extensive clinical trial experience and knowledge that conduct clinical trials from start-up to closure. The Queensland Eye Institute is investing in expanding our clinical trials capacity and is strengthening partnerships with sponsors, contract research organisations and collaborators.
The role will cover both Clinical Assisting and Clinical Trials Coordinator duties. The role requires excellent communication skills, willingness to work as part of a busy team with a strong focus on patient care.
Maintaining a mature work ethic, you will often be the first clinical point of contact for patients. You will be required to provide a high level of service, strong attention to detail and support to Doctors while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Pre-screen patients for suitability / eligibility
- Conducting initial informed consent discussions with potential patients
- Perform trial mandated assessments and imaging on participants
- Ensure complete and accurate data collection and entry into electronic data capture systems
- Assist in maintaining ethical compliance for the clinical trial
- Maintain and complete study documentation and site files
- Providing ongoing care to patients
- Undertaking general administrative duties relating to patient care
- Keeping up to date with current practices and recording work activities as part of continuing professional development
- Development of governance, regulatory processes and documentation.
