ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of OCMS Business Performance, the Contracts and Compliance Manager role is responsible for leading a team and overseeing various aspects of the contract compliance and management. This role supports the OCMS team by ensuring compliance with the Franchise Agreement, providing regular reporting as required by the contract, managing risk, overseeing audits, and ensuring governance of contractual obligations. This position also serves as the primary contact for the division with the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the Franchise Agreement, including contractual obligations and performance metrics.
  • Interface with the Commercial and Finance leads to ensure the timely and accurate submission of Contractual Claims, Retention and Contract Variations to DTP.
  • Oversee audit processes, including internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks related to OCMS systems, Contracts and Compliance, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Oversee the performance of supplier contracts for OCMS projects, ensuring alignment with the Franchise Agreement and the Contract Management Framework, contract terms and quality standards.
  • Build and manage positive relationships with team members, clients, and stakeholders to deliver on Metro’s strategic plan and business objectives.
  • Continue to drive a culture of outstanding performance by leading a diverse and collaborative team of passionate people who are dedicated to support OCMS team in achieving their compliance obligations, improving processes and delivering projects that that improve the safety and reliability of Melbourne's rail network.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Business, Commercial, Law
  • Proven experience in contract management, compliance, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, compliance principles, and risk management.
  • Ability to communicate and liaise with staff at all levels of seniority (verbal & written)
  • Ability to cope with competing demands and a significant volume of work
