Contracts & Procurement Lead

Job Description:Our world demands low carbon energy solutions to achieve a Net Zero future.Who are we looking for?We're looking for a Contracts & Procurement Lead to join our Delivery Phase Services (DPS) Region. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a key leadership role that will develop and implement contract and procurement strategies for our client's projects, manage contract negotiations and administration, ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulations, and overseeing supplier performance and relationships.As we look to transition from traditional energy sources to adopt more renewable alternatives, you can play a key role in enabling and accelerating this change.Location is flexible and the successful applicant can reside in one of our GHD Offices across Australia.We'll support you every step of the way as you join us in finding sustainable energy solutions to make a positive impact that will last for generations.Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in the:

• Development and implementation of contract and procurement strategies and project specific contracts and procurement documents.
• Preparation of market sounding, expression of interest and prequalification documents
• Review of proposed client general and special terms and conditions.
• Coordination of the tendering process, including issuance of tenders to the market, tenderer queries, receipt of tenders, tender review, tenderer shortlisting and preparation of recommendation documents.
• Contract negotiation and supporting conformance of the contract to align with negotiated outcomes for each package
• Review and preparation of responses to payment claims.
• Assessment of variations and extension of time claims
• Provision of sound and timely guidance and advice to our project teams in relation to claims or contract interpretation.
• Identify and implement contract and procurement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Team leadership including planning, organising, and coordinating the project activities and resources; Providing technical guidance and mentoring to the team members

What you will bring to the team:

• Formal qualifications in a relevant engineering or science discipline (preferred)
• Experience as a Contracts & Procurement Specialist on major mining or renewable energy projects (preferred) or significant experience relevant to the role.
• Ability to manage several jobs at once and set priorities.
• Leadership to take ownership of situations and drive to an outcome with others without direction
• Proactive thinker who can anticipate contractual risk and deliver innovative solutions.
• Strong communicator and influencer
• A collaborator who works well nationally and brings people together for the best collective outcomes.
