AddressThe Role:
Ventia are currently recruiting for a Control Centre Operational Team Leader to supervise the Control Centre team. You'll coordinate the receipt, assimilation and input of data relating to the movements of PICs (person in custody), the preparation of daily schedules and to manage the deployment of custody vehicles, ensuring all PICs are delivered on time in a safe and secure manner.
This position is a full-time role based at our Cavan office as part of the SAPMICM (South Australian Prisoner Movement and In-Court Management) Contract. This role reports to the contracts Operations Managers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure Staff rosters are prepared to adequately cover the shift patterns of the Control Centre and that staff are available for work.
- Supervise the daily planning of each operational zone within the Control Room, to ensure company resources are used effective and efficiently and ensuring all prisoners are delivered in a safe and secure manner.
- Ensure effective operational communications between vehicles, courts, hospitals and the Control Centre are maintained to ensure the safety of all staff, prisoners and vehicles.
- Manage the communications and initial command and control when emergencies and incidents occur in accordance with Contingency Plans, including liaising with emergency services and other agencies as necessary.
- Manage and develop Control Centre staff to include annual appraisals.
- Attend Control Centre Meetings as required and actively use these forums to assist the development of the Control Room procedures to ensure they fully support the operation now and in the future.
Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role. (eg People management, workforce management, Control Centres or Scheduling) (highly regarded)
- Previous experience with Department of Correctional Services or similar. (highly regarded)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative management style and the ability to forge highly productive internal and external working relationships.
- Personable and professional, with a strong capability to remain objective, unbiased and balanced in challenging environments.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (excel, Microsoft Office, TEAMS etc).
Must be eligible to hold a Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
