POSITION OBJECTIVES
To lead the Production Team to deliver safe and high-quality foods to company and customer specification.
Achieve consistent quality and efficient production outcomes.
Apply Good Manufacturing Practice through all processes focussing on food safety, quality, workplace health and safety, workflow and cleanliness standards.
Clearly communicate with Machine Lead and Machine Operator team and record required production data, temperatures, batch codes, start and finish times.
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of production areas, including changerooms.
Monitor process flow and KPIs.
Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day operations of the team in the production area, including assigning tasks, managing task rotations and breaks.
- Responsible for ensuring the training and competency of all food production workers in all tasks of the production floor.
- Provide clear and concise communication with food production workers and process engineers to ensure a uniformed approach to production.
- Ensure all paperwork (including job cards and cleaning checklists) are filled out accurately and in its entirety during and at the completion of production.
- Monitoring and reporting any breaches in CPs, CCPs and QCPs to the relevant stakeholders.
- Work with other Team Leaders in the business to optimise workflow, improve efficiency and complete production.
- Working closely with the quality and innovation teams to ensure the delivery of safe and in specification product.
- Work with maintenance team to ensure the completion of maintenance tasks. This includes reporting any faulty or potentially faulty equipment to the maintenance team.
- Leads and sets example of safety on the worksite and is responsible for ensuring all hazards, near misses and incidents for their team are reported in a timely manner.
- Assist in problem solving exercises.
- Assist in the creation and adherences of all work instructions related to food production workers.
- Sets the example for the company values of Mexex.
- Any other task required to be completed as per the direction of the Production Manager.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Two years minimum experience in the food or beverage industry.
- Certificate III in Food Processing (desired but not essential).
- Good understanding of food and manufacturing industry standards.
- Excellent Time Management Skills and can work as a team or independently.
- Demonstrates leadership qualities and has good communication skills.
- Awareness of occupational health and safety and food hygiene regulations.
- Desire to learn and grow.
