About the Role Reporting to the Lead Control Systems Engineer, in Operational Technology this role provides IROC 24 x 7 first response control system support service for breakdowns and investigations in production areas to ensure IROC Mines Controllers operate equipment in the safest and most efficient manner; Implements improvement projects to achieve safer and more reliable process control thereby maintaining and improving process efficiencies, in line with our business plan. Duties will include: Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
Provide Control Systems support to breakdowns and production critical issues. Investigate and identify the root cause of related downtime caused by the Control Systems and identify and execute solutions to prevent repeat events from occurring. Initiate and implement improvement projects to resolve bottlenecks through optimisation of plant performance.
Execute PLC/SCADA coding and graphics. Contribute to maintaining and optimising alarms on the Control Systems. Execute Control Systems design and commissioning for plant modifications and new equipment installation.
This position will work on our Lifestyle Roster, working a pattern of days and nights, with a block of days off at the end of each swing. Employees on this roster enjoy two full weekends off out of four and will align to the following shift rotation: 2D2N5X, 2D3N4X, 3D2N5X. Shifts are 12.5 hours, including handover, and you will benefit from additional shift allowances, as part of your remuneration package.
As an added benefit, those on a Lifestyle Roster will also enjoy an additional week of annual leave per year. About You Trade certificate or tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Instrumentation or similar discipline Ideally, you will have; Demonstrate substantial PLC and SCADA experience (preferably Allen Bradley PLCs and Citect SCADA), though GE, Schneider or similar equivalents.
Experience working in large scale bulk handling operations is desirable. Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (including root-cause analysis) Proven experience supporting or implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Field network experience (DeviceNet, ControlNet, EthernetIP, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus) and exposure with sensors and actuators (variable speed drives and analogue and discrete sensors) is desirable.
Familiarity with programming (FBD, LD, ST, SFC, batch, SPC, PID, defensive) is advantageous. Professional certifications in ISA or TUV will be well regarded, as will CPEng status but not mandatory. …
