We currently have an opportunity for a CasualCook to fill an integral role within the team at BethanieFields located in Eaton, Bunbury. Bethanie Fields is a 160 bed facility designed specificallyto provide support for people who need 24 hour care, includingthose with special care needs and dementia.
Hours of work will be varied, and the successful applicant mustbe flexible to work a variety of shifts from Monday to Sunday for9:00am to 5:00pm shifts – including publicholidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation and cooking of meals on site
- Produce well-presented nutritious meals using fresh ingredients where possible
- Assist in the menu development where practicable
- Adhere to the approved cycle menu on site
- Manage portion control and wastage on site
- Ensure all dietary requirements for residents are met
- Direct and train staff on appropriate food presentation and preparation techniques
- Comply with Food safety programme and procedures as outlined in the Hospitality manual
- Comply with any relevant legislation covering food safety ie. Food Act and Food Standards Code
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cook/Chef catering for up to 100 people
- Minimum requirement of a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar
- Ability to work with hospitality staff to get food out on time
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent working knowledge of the Food Act and Food Standards code
- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group Inc.
- Current NDIS Clearance or the willingness to receive one
- Willingness to receive relevant vaccinations
