About you:

You will have knowledge of Food Safety regulations and Workplace Health and Safety regulations relevant to industrial food service operations, previous work experience related large volume food service in a health care setting, sound culinary knowledge and ability to produce and present food to a high standard and demonstrated ability to maintain effectual work output and provide leadership, training, and supervision of work groups in a food services environment.

Your opportunity:

Prepare, produce, and present food to the required standards in accordance with Queensland Health Nutritional Standards for meals and menus, ensuring quality control. Follow standard recipes and provide clinically appropriate food for all patients. Also supervise food preparation, production, presentation, and delivery of food around the Gordonvale facility. This position is responsible for the direct day-to-day supervision of 002 Food Assistant staff at the Gordonvale Health Facility.

Your role:

• To ensure that a safe working environment exists, adhering to Food Safety, Workplace Health and Safety and all other relevant regulations, in all areas of influence, this includes but is not limited to personal hygiene, equipment use and cleaning, general work practices, monitoring the work practices of OO2 staff.
• Coordinate the production of meals to ensure delivery within the required time frame and prepared to a high standard according to the standard recipe.
• Ensure portion control is correct in accordance with Dietician requirements.
• Read, understand, and comply with policies, procedures, and workplace instructions.
• Understanding and application of the Gordonvale Health Facility Food Safety Program, maintaining a food safe and hygienic production area and environment.
