About the Role
- Ensure a high standard and quality of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, dining room, and hospital.
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of dietary services within the hospital to all patients and staff.
- Ensure duties are performed in accordance with infection control and food safety handling standards.
Selection Criteria
- Food Handling Certificate.
- Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cooking equivalent (for cooks/chefs).
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a customer focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team displaying a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Proven commitment to professional development and quality improvement.
- Open honest approach with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Working With Children Check.
- National Police Certificate obtained within a three-month period prior to employment.
- Previous experience in a health care setting (hospital and/or aged care).
- COVID vaccine minimum 2 doses evidence.
- Evidence of measles/mumps/rubella, varicella, hepatitis B vaccinations and serology.
- Evidence of DPT vaccine no older than 10 years.
- Evidence of current influenza vaccination (but not necessary until next flu season vaccinations available).
- Flexibility to work all shifts on all days including weekends.
