Manjits Group is seeking expression of interest from qualified and experienced 2 x Full-time Cooks to complement their NSW teams at Manjits on Wharf, Concord Function Centre, and Angelo’s Cabarita. Salary offered is $70K to $80K plus superannuation depending on the skills and experience of the applicant.

A Senior Cook is responsible for creating specialised Tandoori and Curry cuisine as well as preparing fusion food with limited supervision.  Key tasks include creating trademark dishes, menu variations, quality control and customer satisfaction.  This is a full-time role and is open to Australian Residents and qualified foreign professional.

Tasks and Responsibilities

·       Prepare and cook the full range of Indian dishes in our menu

·       Develop and change the menu from time to time as required

·       Create new and improved dishes amalgamating trends and traditional patterns

·       Handle all scales of dining events, group bookings and indoor/outdoor functions

·       Train and mentor less experienced and new kitchen staff

·       Follow and maintain OH&S procedures in the kitchen

·       Maintain tidiness and cleanliness in the kitchen, storage and loading dock

·       Quality control and reporting of kitchen operations, stock and staff

·       Undertake stock control, budgeting, rotation and re-ordering functions

·       Present and plating of food and customised dishes as per Manjits standards

·       Expert usage of full range of commercial equipment and identify maintenance issues

·       Manage kitchen staff levels proportionate to the event, dine in or functions

·       Work beyond delegation in the absence of the Head Chef

Skills & Experience Level

·       3 years relevant experience or Certificate IV in Cookery plus some experience

·       Ability to lead and manage fast paced kitchen operations

·       Ability to explain to customers the essence and preparation of signature dishes

·       Good communication and interpersonal skills

·       Independent and motivated player to lead junior staff
