About the opportunity
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Cyber Security section, ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of Council's Cyber Security strategy. Your responsibilities will encompass establishing and supervising a comprehensive range of functions and services. This includes providing expert advice, training, and support across the organisation to ensure compliance with relevant security documentation, controls, and regulatory frameworks.
You will have the opportunity to innovate, develop, and implement strategies aimed at mitigating cyber risks and coordinating incident response protocols. Your leadership style, informed by strong interpersonal skills, will be pivotal in building and leading teams to successfully manage projects with high standards of delivery. Additionally, you will cultivate effective and collaborative relationships with stakeholders, inspiring and motivating your staff to uphold Council's Guiding Principles while supporting them in achieving work targets and objectives.
About you
You hold a tertiary qualification in Information Technology (Cyber Security) or possess an equivalent blend of contemporary industry experience, education, or training. While experience in a local government setting would be advantageous, it is not a prerequisite for this role.
Your expertise includes robust project management skills, allowing you to effectively prioritise tasks within a deadline-driven environment. You excel in advanced problem-solving and decision-making, demonstrating confidence in collaborating with leaders to analyse and resolve high-priority, sensitive, and complex issues and conflicts. Moreover, you bring experience in developing and implementing Cyber Security roadmaps, strategies, and frameworks.
Your exceptional communication abilities facilitate the development of strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders. Furthermore, you have a proven track record in coaching and mentoring teams, empowering them to excel in their roles.

Remuneration: $122,527 - $136,005 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 11% p.a. super.
