About the Role
The purpose of this exciting position is to develop and deliver experiences across the Shire’s destination precincts, The Briars, and Police Point. The incumbent will facilitate an exceptional visitor experience at each site, increasing visitation to and enjoyment ofthese sites through the creation and delivery of educational programs and interpretive experiences and by supporting event and function producers to operate successfully onsite.
This position is required to work 1 weekend per month and up to 4 public holidays per year as per the Briars provision in the EBA. The position will also support the delivery of a significant event from April – July which will include later shifts (up to midnight).
Reporting to the Team Leader, Destination Experience and Peninsula Events, the core responsibilities include:
- Support the Precincts team to build visitation to the sites and audience’s connection in key values and messages.
- Develop face-to-face interpretive and educational experiences.
- Support event organisers to deliver safe, exceptional events including providing expert site advice.
- Ensure site standards are met or exceeded including site aesthetics, signage quality and customer service.
About You
- Experience effectively leading teams of staff and volunteers in a cultural organisation context.
- Experience in using best-practice interpretive tools to develop and deliver face-to-face and media experiences that engage people with nature/heritage.
- Desirable – qualifications or training in interpretation or education.
- Experience creating installations, events, and programs for a range of audiences.
- Demonstrated experience engaging community groups including the Indigenous Community, schools, and City Councils to deliver exceptional programs.
- Experience in understanding audiences and incorporating this knowledge into the development of visitor experience and program plans.
- Experience in project management related to initiatives including interpretive media, events, and other experiences.
