About the role

As the People Coordinator, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s People & Integrity Group.

The role will support the People Services and Payroll team with the coordination of duties across the employee lifecycle. This includes from the commencement of employment through to payroll. It will include the contract generation and onboarding of new hires and internal appointments as well as processing internal movements, changes to work arrangements, medical data administration and the offboarding of employees.

The role plays a significant part in managing the daily administration tasks associated with employees. It will also include providing exceptional customer service and being the first port of call to assist employees and managers with their general queries.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Cross-Platform Proficiency: Be adept at working across various platforms, including complex manual systems, to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
  • Multitasking and Prioritization: Successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize work based on urgency, and manage conflicting deadlines effectively.
  • Confidentiality and Discretion: Handle confidential and sensitive information with utmost discretion, maintaining privacy and trust.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and processes.

About you

You will thrive in a team environment, actively collaborate with colleagues, share relevant information, and contribute valuable insights during discussions.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Tertiary education in Human Resources or Business Administration (desirable)
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems such as JDE
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019 and commences at Clerk C1 ($74,595) EA Rate plus Leave Loading and Superannuation.
