We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Coordinator IT Applications at The City of Charles Sturt. This pivotal role sits within the Corporate Services Division, specifically in the Information Services Portfolio. As the Council embarks on its Digital Future Program, your expertise will drive strategic direction for its IT applications, ensuring a seamless transition to Software as a Service (SaaS).
Position Objective: As the Coordinator of IT Applications, you will play a crucial role in leading a dedicated team towards maintaining, securing, and enhancing the Council’s IT applications. Your responsibilities include coordinating workforce planning, fostering professional development, and ensuring the team acquires the necessary skills for the organisation's transition to SaaS. Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, you will also serve as an escalation point for IT applications changes, projects, and Service Desk tickets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational leadership for the IT Applications Team, overseeing the procurement, maintenance, and support of core applications, data integrations, and reporting systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure high reliability, security, and performance of the IT applications environment.
- Lead and coordinate operational and capital IT applications projects, managing risks, issues, timelines, and costs effectively.
- Contribute to the Council’s Cloud Centre of Excellence, providing strategic advice on SaaS management, disaster recovery, and security.
- Actively participate in the Council’s Security Focus Group, contributing to the development and delivery of the organisation’s cyber security program.

- Leadership Experience in a Demanding and Complex IT Applications Environment: You will be able to explain how your leadership in managing IT applications in a demanding environment, particularly with a substantial ERP footprint, sets you apart.
- Knowledge of Cloud Migration and Operational Management Practices: Your expertise in cloud migration, operational management practices, including cyber security and change management processes, will be considered a valuable asset.
- Experience in Managing Vendors and Projects: Managing vendors and projects, especially large, complex software and ERP upgrades, is within your realm of experience and success.
- Confident in Managing Operational IT Escalation by Customers: As the escalation point for IT applications customers, your confidence in managing operational escalations and ensuring customer satisfaction is a key strength.
- Knowledge of Data Integration and Reporting Tools and Platforms: Your knowledge of data integration and reporting tools and platforms contributes to informed decision-making and optimisation of the IT applications environment.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a relevant discipline, and/or at least 10 years of demonstrated experience. Formal qualification(s) in project management will be highly regarded.
- Location: This role is based in Adelaide, South Australia and it is expected that the successful candidate will be based in Adelaide and have the appropriate visa/permission to work in a permanent ongoing role.
