The Role
The Coordinator Libraryand Local History is responsible for supporting the Town’s programs, projects and initiatives by providing leadership, direction and effective coordination of the Town’s Library Services, including appropriate systems for the delivery of information, education, culture and recreation to the community.
The position works collaboratively with Manager Community Services and the Executive team, managers and staff. Externally it liaises with suppliers and vendors, contractors, consultants, Library professionals and the community.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in library management and understanding of current issues and trends in the Library profession
- Well-demonstrated people leadership abilities to manage the team to achieve high productivity and deliver services in line with organisational values, standards and policies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that are adaptable to a range of different environments and audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent experience and eligible for Associate membership in the Australia Library and Information Association.
