Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Residential employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for
As the Mobile Maintenance Coordinator, your role entails the efficient and secure management of equipment and fleet maintenance teams at Cadia Valley Operations. Your responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of maintenance while adhering to budgetary constraints.
This position is ideal for individuals who have prior experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably within the heavy industry maintenance sector, and possess previous expertise in managing mobile fleets.
This full-time permanent position will be offered as a 7/7 roster and will require the successful candidate to work days only.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Health and Safety:
- Drive compliance to safety procedures and processes to meet site and department requirements.
- Promote and support Newsafe and Feelsafe daily and ensure all personnel are performing OCCC’s and PTHA’s as required.
- Ensure compliance to FCCC and VFSL interactions for both your role and team members within your effective control.
- Ensure Newmont and contractor employee compliance with relevant statutory and site standards.
- Ensure compliance to CVO site safety processes and procedures for self and Fleet maintenance personnel.
Technical:
- Proficient in maintenance techniques for effective management of Cadia Valley Mobile Fleets.
- Familiarity with maintenance budgets and their operational functionality.
- Conversant with the current fleet's maintenance requirements.
- Sound knowledge of operational facets of departmental procedures and processes.
- Understanding of planning techniques to maintain the fleet to the required standard.
- Ability to assist in the review of maintenance costs.
- Familiarity with compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements for the fleet.
People and Performance:
- Assist in the establishment of the Newmont Newsafe and Feelsafe culture, which enhances team function and encompasses the safe operation and performance of the Mobile Fleet.
- Ensure the ongoing commitment to succession planning by providing effective coaching and direction to your team.
- Work closely with other CVO departments to maintain relationships and deliver safe production in line with budgeted expectations.
- Incorporate on the job training with employees including FCCC observations and mentoring of 2IC’s and personnel in workshop conducting maintenance tasks.
- Ensure operational discipline within your team and CVO mobile fleet maintenance, ensure you always act in this manner and provide a leadership example within all aspects of what you do.
- Facilitate and implement projects as per direction given by the Fleet Superintendent within the required time frame.
- Improve, implement and support proactive, reliability-based maintenance systems to achieve continued improvement trend regarding MTBF.
- Ensure that any personnel working under your Supervision have the correct training and competency for the task being undertaken.
You will also possess the following:
- Certified tradesperson/engineer specializing in maintenance
- Experience in construction, management, and/or relevant heavy industry roles
- Previous supervisory experience in heavy industry maintenance
- Demonstrated capability to lead change and achieve results
- Proficient skills in the Microsoft Office Suite
