The role
We are seeking a motivated, passionate and experienced Planning professional with a strong commitment to place-based practice to:
- Lead a work program underpinned by contemporary and innovative planning practices that emphasise the importance of place value and character
- Lead and manage the team in delivering Strategic Planning projects
- Recognise the contribution Strategic Planning makes to our Shire’s cultural, social and economic wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with the relevant Acts and the Mount Alexander Planning Scheme
Our ideal candidate
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Planning recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia
- Understanding of complex urban and regional planning issues and relevant legislation
- Experience in local government
- Experience in project management, preparation and implementation of strategic urban and regional planning related projects
- Demonstrated ability to leave a team to achieve positive outcomes
