Cornerman is a Chartered Firm providing bespoke CFO, Taxation and Advisory services to a select group of clients. Due to the overwhelming growth of a group of companies, we now require a full time Corporate Tax Manager.
This role is suited to a tax professional that is seeking a diverse and challenging role. With the responsibility for all Corporate Tax reporting and ongoing tax related projects, you will ensure that all taxation obligations are delivered in a timely and accurate manner. Additionally, you will be responsible for group reporting, provision of tax advice and ensuring that robust controls and procedures are in place to support tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
For this role you will be working on a select group of related companies for 90% of your time in a Corporate Tax capacity, however your expertise may be called upon to assist our Business Services Team with technical matters and advice from time to time.
Key deliverables for this role include:
- Management of monthly and quarterly tax reporting obligations.
- Identify and proactively improve tax related processes and controls through risk recognition and mitigation.
- Oversee the timely completion of all tax returns for your group.
- Establish strong working relationships with key finance and non-finance stakeholders and become the “go to person” for all tax related matters.
- Build relationships within our team of 50+ providing guidance and advice in both taxation technical matters and general professional standards.
- Build strong relationships with clients to provide guidance and coaching in relation to taxation law, risk and compliance.
- Work with all regulatory authorities, develop responses to enquiries/requests for information, and facilitate any on-site reviews if required.
- Take the lead in taxation due diligence projects.
- Assist with the development of team members in relation to taxation technical skills and knowledge.
This role is ideally suited to an experienced tax professional with the following:
- Tertiary qualifications with CA/CPA complete
- Minimum 7 years’ experience, majority of which was gained within Big 4 or Top Tier Firm
- Strong knowledge of Australian Taxation Law, Reporting and Obligations, including Income Tax, GST, PAYG Withholding and FBT
- Strong knowledge of large reporting requirements, including CBC, International Dealings, SGE etc
- Sound understanding of changes to relevant tax laws, industry trends and emerging technology
- Experience in developing processes and controls
- Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision making
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to “read the room”
