The ACCIONA, MACA & AECOM Alliance has been selected to deliver the North East Link Project (Northern Package). This package of works covers the design and construction of the North East Link between the M80 - Plenty Rd interchange, and the north tunnel entrance at Watsonia.
We are now looking to appoint a talented individual to join our team as a Cost Control & Forecasting Analyst.
Reporting to the Cost & Forecast Control Manager, you will be a part of the wider financial team working on the M80 project. Your responsibilities will include maintaining proper financial control ensuring efficiency and accuracy in cost management, forecasting, and claims management within the project framework.
Key Responsibilities for the role:
Support the development of standard Cost Control procedures, guidelines, templates, and coding for consistent cost management and reporting.
Create and maintain project cost reports throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in optimizing portfolio-level reporting by integrating common work breakdown structures and forecasting methods across projects.
Utilize standard Cost Control procedures and processes, including WBS, monthly reports, change control, and budget management.
Monitor budget and expenditure changes, providing regular updates to Project Managers.
Collaboration & Reporting:
Maintain relationships between estimating, planning, and Cost Control groups to ensure awareness of all aspects of Project Controls.
Participate in Project and Program monthly report reviews.
Interface with external parties and participate in internal cost review sessions for robust forecast and project cost outcome reporting.
Financial Compliance:
Minimum Qualifications & Skills Required.
- University Degree (Bachelor of Business/Commerce/Engineering).
- 3-5 years of proven experience within a Cost Control role.
- Practical experience with using and maintaining finance systems.
- Strong to Advanced Excel skills.
- Effective communication with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written).
- Ability to identify and analyse risks, taking corrective actions.
- Knowledge of key performance indicator reporting.
- Experience with best practice Cost Control processes and tools in a complex project environment.
- Demonstrated contractual and commercial awareness.
