About the role
We are currently seeking a Cost Manager to join our Rail Operations team based in Laverton North, VIC.
This permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain project cost control function, WBS, cost management processes, and progress measurement.
- Configure and utilize cost management software (e.g., PRISM G2) for data entry, reporting, and integration.
- Coordinate monthly cost processes: accruals, actuals, forecasts, variance analysis, trend monitoring.
- Produce comprehensive cost reports with detailed analysis for stakeholders.
- Manage change management processes, tracking changes and cost implications.
- Collaborate on risk management, identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks.
- Troubleshoot data inconsistencies, reconcile discrepancies, ensure accurate data models and reports.
- Optimize cost control processes, leveraging best practices and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project teams, aligning cost control activities with project objectives.
About you
- Experience in cost controls for engineering, construction, and capital works projects.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, interpreting complex data and providing insights.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, presenting financial information to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., PRISM G2), Excel, and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced skills in the below would be advantageous:
- PRISM G2 or equivalent Cost Management System
- MS 365 (mainly Excel)
- MS Power Platform
