About Lifeline Regional SA and Far West NSW (LLSAFWNSW)
LLSAFWNSW is a Non-profit, Non-government organisation servicing Far West NSW and approximately 70% of South Australia. Our organisation is committed to an Australia free of suicide, delivering suicide prevention programs, training and awarness.
As an organisation, LLSAFWNSW manages eight retail shops and a distribution warehouse. We deliver a number of training programs including Accidental Counsellor, REACH, Youth Mental Health First Aid and DV-Alert. We currently have three Connect centres (Broken HIll, Clare and Port Pirie) which provide easy access to free counselling and other supports. We have over 35 staff and 350 volunteers dedicated to the core business of suicide prevention. We are proud to be opening our next Connect centre in Moonta mid 2024.
The role:
You will be the counsellor working alongside volunteers at the Yorke Peninsula Connect centre (based in Moonta). You will be a part of a broader team of counsellors working across our Connect Centre sites in Far West NSW and Regional SA. Connect is an early intervention model for suicide prevention which aims to connect the community and improve social and emotional well-being by providing a clear place to go for help when crisis looms and things get too much.
Our counsellors provide quality counselling to clients for short, medium and long-term and one-off sessions for those in crisis. Counsellors manage the ongoing professionalism and delivery of the Lifeline Regional SA and Far West NSW service in the Yorke Peninsula Connect Centre. The role is primarily responsible for providing professional, ethical, and up-to-date evidence-based supports and counselling for early intervention and suicide prevention and further developing capacity to meet the growing needs of the community.
This is an exciting opportunity to be on board with a very well-established organisation at the commencement of a new Connect Centre. The successful applicant will be fully supported by the Regional Coordinator for Connect Centres.
