About the role:
Melville Cares is growing and as a result, an exciting opportunity exists for Allied Health Team Lead (OT) to join our team in this newly created position.
As the successful candidate, utilising your skills and knowledge, you will have autonomy to establish and grow the Service including the development of key policies and documents to effectively deliver Allied Health Services to Melville Care Clients. You will promote a multi-disciplinary approach to best care, demonstrated in the safe delivery of quality, evidenced based practice to Clients, and using your exemplary skills and knowledge, provide leadership to your direct reports, whilst managing a case load.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a new Service, develop and implement Allied Health Framework and key supporting documents.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Allied Health Team to foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised treatment in accordance with the organisation’s policies and guidelines.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of clients’ functional abilities, needs, and goals to provide appropriate recommendations to maximise their independent and quality of life.
- Respond to client and staff queries and complaints internally and externally, to ensure timely and effective resolution and continued provision of quality services.
- Provide a broad range of interventions that meet Client goals to improve or maintain physical/cognitive function and independence.
- Regularly evaluate Client progress against therapy goals, promoting self-management and sufficiency of Client capacity.
- Collate and complete all individual Client documentation to the required standards.
- Provide reports to key stakeholders.
- Maintain professional skills and participate in ongoing evaluation of clinical practice and quality improvement activities.

As the successful candidate, you must meet these selection criteria:
- Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Therapy, including current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
- Relevant experience in a similar leadership role.
- Well-developed communication (verbal, written and listening) and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, carers, families and direct care employees.
- The ability to work well autonomously and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and organise work and teams.
- Willingness to uphold the Vision, Mission and Values of Melville Cares.
- Current Driver’s Licence and road worthy vehicle.
- National Police clearance (less than 3 months old).
