Are you passionate about nurturing the creative talents of young minds? Join our team, an independent Catholic school dedicated to providing a holistic education tailored to the needs of boys. They are currently seeking a Creative Arts and Design Technology Teacher to inspire and guide their students in unleashing their artistic potential. This is a contracted role starting in Term 2 to End of School Year (13 December 2024) 0.6 to 1.0 FTE (Flexible) with the possibility of an ongoing offer past 2024.Responsibilities:
- Teach subjects including Visual Arts, Design Technology, and Digital Media, fostering exploration and skill development.
- Provide hands-on instruction and mentorship to students, guiding them in their artistic and technical endeavors.
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and experimentation within the creative process.
- Develop engaging and innovative curriculum aligned with Australian Curriculum standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Arts and technology across the curriculum, enriching interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered to express themselves creatively.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Fine Arts, Design, or related field.
- Relevant teaching experience in Creative Arts and Design Technology, preferably in a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary art practices, design principles, and digital technologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to the values and mission of Blackfriars and the Dominican tradition.
- Current Working with Children Check and registration with the SA Teachers Registration Board.
