This role would strategize and execute on all consumer publicity and brand awareness efforts for a busy and growing roster of top content creators in the food and lifestyle spaces. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded, hardworking communications professional and expert multi-tasker with strong consumer press relationships and proven results working in-house or at an agency within the lifestyle/food/influencer arenas.
The Creator Publicity Team is responsible for elevating the media profile, increasing consumer and press awareness and securing top-tier press placements for Raptive’s most influential content creators and their brands. Working 1:1 with popular creators like Feel Good Foodie and Natasha’s Kitchen, we strategize and implement all press-facing functions as it relates to our roster of creators’ everyday business and content goals, brand initiatives (including but not limited to content special series, cookbook campaigns and product launches), seasonal opportunities and trending content. We are a strategic business partner and counsel for our content creators –providing thought partnership, media training, media relations and brand building insights, in addition to the everyday press outreach and publicity support creators come to expect from any top PR agency.
What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with the Creator Publicity lead to manage and pitch multiple creators’ brands, content and projects simultaneously, being adept at prioritization and pivoting quickly as creators’ goals and business needs change
  • Heavy media pitching (includes proactive pitch idea generation, list building, pitch drafting and local/national press outreach, follow-up) on behalf of our creators, their brand initiatives and seasonal opportunities that arise -often simultaneously. Emphasis on targeting national and local press opportunities including profiles, features, expert sourcing and commentary, Q&As, radio/podcast interviews and TV segments
  • Support Creator Publicity Lead with creator relationship management, correspondence, status update meetings and press interview logistics
  • Work cross-functionally with both internal and external partners on behalf of the Creator Publicity Team to strategize, plan and problem solve for creators’ most important brand initiatives and/or crises that may arise
  • Administrative work as it relates to all PR functions, including but not limited to: press list building and maintenance, fast-breaking pitch drafting, research and trendspotting, press and social media monitoring, media training documents, media kit creation, monthly/quarterly press placement reporting, press interview travel and logistic coordination
The skills and experience you bring to the job:
  • 7+ years of experience in consumer Publicity/Media Relations at agency or in-house brand; Experience working with content creators and/or food creators specifically is a major plus
  • Strong understanding of the media and PR landscape and relationships with reporters/bookers, especially in the top-tier food/lifestyle spaces and across mediums
  • A passion for creators and industry knowledge of the ever-evolving creator economy
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, creators and projects while quickly and easily adapting to changing creator and internal business needs
  • A creative and innovative thinker who can generate trend ideas, innovative, data-driven pitches and outside the box media opportunities for creators
  • Expert written communication skills that emphasize storytelling and can bring ideas to life with compelling copy
  • Experience working with and advising talent on PR strategy, comms, media training and social best practices
  • Proven track record of working proactively and nimbly, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on talent and media relations
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment - a “no job is too small” mentality is key to working on this team
