Creche Assistant - Expression of Interest
About the role
Are you passionate and committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children? Reporting to the Supervisor Children’s Services, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the crèche facilities at the City’s Leisureplexes, by providing high quality supervision of children in a safe, clean and enjoyable environment.
A snapshot of your new role:
- Providing quality supervision of children aged 12 weeks through to six years
- Ensure all children are registered by a parent/guardian on arrival
- Assist children with eating and drinking techniques
- Attend to children’s toiletry needs including changing of nappies, as required
- Ensure the crèche office, toilets and facilities are clean and orderly, and all toys and play equipment are sanitised regularly
- Assist in planning and preparation of activities suitable to the ages of children
Applicants must be available a minimum of 2 shifts per week and across both Riverton & Cannington Leisureplexes. Shift times are approximately 8.00am - 12.30pm and 3.00pm -7:30pm (Monday to Friday), 8.15am - 12:15pm and 12:45pm - 5.15pm (Saturday), 5.00pm - 8.45pm (Sunday)
Who we’re looking for:
- Previous experience working in a children’s crèche or childcare centre
- Current Working with Children Check (your application must include your WWC number)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current “C” class driver’s licence
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher) is desirable
