About the Position
As the Credit & Compliance Processing Manager, you will lead the Home Loan and Auto Credit departments, offering daily support to team leaders across credit decisioning, system process, SLAs, and general team management. Utilising your Delegated Lending Authority, you'll review escalated credit decisions, guiding team leaders to enhance performance and encourage exceptional results. Your leadership will foster an environment of continuous improvement and strategic problem-solving within the team.

Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Guide Credit Assessors to make judicious decisions within their Delegated Lending Authorities, aligning with Firstmac’s Credit Policy
- Exercise commercial judgement for escalated credit decisions requiring higher levels of DLA
- Ensure effective workflow management across teams, maintaining communication with team leaders to meet service levels
- Collaborate with the productivity manager to deliver accurate reporting on team and individual results.
About You
In order to succeed in this role we are looking for the following:
- A minimum of 5 years’ management experience in the Mortgage industry, specifically in a high-volume back office processing setting
- Demonstrable experience in credit assessment for residential home loans, and ideally consumer loans (car loans / personal loans). A Delegated Lending Authority must have been held for a significant period of time
- Proven experience in leading and training teams, with a focus on process improvement
- Comprehensive understanding of the loan application process, underwriting, and credit principles
- Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve excellence.
