We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller who seeks to balance the maintenance of credit standards with delivery of good customer service.
Key responsibilities
- Ensuring that overdue payments are acted upon in a timely manner by making outbound calls and sending appropriate arrears notification
- Actioning inbound telephone calls on Credit Team queue
- Applying knowledge and understanding of credit processes to make sound decisions to achieve optimal collection outcomes
- Liaising with insurance brokers to effect cancellation of funded policies where necessary
- Maintaining the debtors ledger within policy guidelines and meeting monthly KPI
- Providing excellent customer service through assisting clients to resolve their queries
- Working within the sales team to assist and facilitate the collection of amounts
- Understanding of Consumer Credit Laws
- Other ad-hoc duties as required
- High attention to written and numeric detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Commercially astute in problem solving
- Excellent customer service skills – politely assertive, respectful and empathetic
- Maintain an in depth knowledge of company products and credit processes
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Ability to work in a cross functional manner
- A good team player, supporting and assisting colleagues when possible
- Insurance/Financial industry experience
- Experienced in collections or debt recoveries (at least 2 years)
