Job description

The Credit Risk Specialist is responsible for undertaking detailed investigations, analysis and assessments of internal and external Credit Risks applicable to Queensland Country. This role will generate required reporting, assessments and assurances to assist the Risk Office in ensuring that Credit Risk is effectively identified and challenged by the second line.

This position is full time salaried based on a 38 hour working week, however the successful candidate must be prepared to work outside normal business hours to accommodate the needs of the department.

The successful applicant can be located in our Townsville office.

Selection Criteria

To be eligible to apply for this position you must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience within the Financial Services industry
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Mortgage lending experience, including regular exposure to complex credit applications (desirable)
  • Exceptional communication and record management skills
  • Sound understanding of risk management concepts within the ADI environment
  • Ability to understand and assess each situation and make decisions that are consistent with the organisation's risk appetite and business objectives
  • Postgraduate studies in Risk Management (desired)
  • Familiar with Regulatory Framework of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (desired)
  • Experience in ongoing management of large credit portfolios or exposures
