Role Overview

In this exciting new role within the Academic Learning Team, you will report directly to the Director of Academic Learning. As the successful candidate, you are a highly skilled Curriculum Designer whose expertise will be instrumental in training and mentoring subject writers, guiding them to craft curricula of outstanding quality and innovation. If you believe in social-constructivist workshop learning experiences, custom-designed to suit a broad range of international and domestic student learners, this role is for you.

This role involves no direct reports but necessitates forming close collaborative partnerships. You will work alongside subject writers and academic leaders across five business-related disciplines, the Content and Learning Systems Manager, and the Academic Learning Specialist. You will be an integral part of the subject writing process, from designing training materials and Curriculum Design templates, to providing initial training sessions to writers on best-practice design, through to mentoring and reviewing of draft work.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate learning resources that encapsulate best-practice Curriculum Design, thereby providing subject writers with access to superior asynchronous training opportunities.
• Design and maintain curriculum templates to ensure consistent adherence to Kaplan Business School’s policies and practices for maintaining high-quality standards across all academic disciplines.
• Conduct both group and one-on-one training sessions focused on essential Curriculum Design methodologies.
• Foster and sustain a community of practice among subject writers, promoting cross-disciplinary knowledge exchange and skill enhancement, thereby ensuring every student benefits from high-quality learning resources, irrespective of their chosen field of study.

Candidate Requirements

• A master’s degree in a field related to teaching.
• Qualifications or certifications in Instructional, Curriculum, or Syllabus Design methodology.
• Proven experience in adult education and training.
• Proficiency in innovative assessment design, particularly with Generative AI integration.
• In-depth understanding of TEQSA and AQF requirements, focusing on compliance and constructive alignment.
• Exceptional proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
