OUR SCHOOL
St Aidan's is a Prep to Year 12 Anglican day school for girls, with a co-educational Kindergarten. Located in Corinda, with a population of just over 1000 students, reflecting our belief that students experience many benefits in a smaller school.
St Aidan’s was established in 1929 by the Sisters of the Society of the Sacred Advent – an order of Anglican sisters committed to serving God through nurturing and serving young women.
THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the St Aidan's Business, Economics and Social Sciences (BESS) teaching team. The role is a combination of a Teacher (permanent) and Economics Curriculum Leader (PAR Tenure 3 years). Experience teaching Senior Economics as well as the ability to teach Business in lower secondary classes will be considered favourable. A Term 3 2024 start date would be preferable however this can be flexible to suit the successful applicant.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A recognised degree in education and teaching with relevant qualifications and expertise in the curriculum area
- Registration with The Queensland College of Teachers
- Knowledge of and experience in the implementation of the Australian Curriculum and the QCAA syllabus documents
- Knowledge of effective teaching strategies to develop thinking and learning skills and to support lifelong learning.
- Skills in integrating technologies effectively in the teaching/learning program.
- An ability to work as a member of a team.
- Excellent communication skills
- Active involvement in the extra-curricular and spiritual life of the School and the SOAR/Camping programs.
- It is further anticipated that teachers maintain an understanding of current educational trends and requirements.
- Ability to work across Year 6 to Year 12.
- Willingness to teach Religious and Values Education

CONDITIONS AND SALARY
- Remuneration commensurate with experience as per the St Aidan's Anglican Girls' School Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2023.
- The Curriculum Leader position attracts additional remuneration and time release.
