Job description

  • Long Term Contract - 12 months, 4x12 Month extensions! Starting ASAP
  • 2 Days WFH available
  • Federal Government Position - No Clearance Required (Baseline is Prefered)
We at Compas are recruiting on behalf of a large scale Federal Government Department that specialises in supporting people to have safe, secure and well-paid work with the skills for a sustainable future. This Department is seeking multiple designers to design and deliver new experiences, policy solutions and improved outcomes for customers across arange of digital solutions. 

The successful candidates will:

  • Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement.
  • Work within set timeframes, and have demonstrated success in tailoring design activities to practical timeboxes.
  • Use design research techniques and service design methodologies to mould the experience, services, systems and brands that end-users live through products alongside clients and project stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience:
  • Leading/planning end-to-end service design engagements
  • Working in Agile and, ideally, experience with the Commonwealth Digital Service Standard
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and managing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders; including IT deliver, Product Owners, policy experts and executives
Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience in leading stakeholders and project teams to generate journey maps, service blueprints, service models, and clearly articulate actionable insights and opportunities for service and experience improvement
  • Demonstrated ability overseeing and participating in research activities, generating insights and effectively using qualitative and quantitative data to drive improvements
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile team, including the ability to scope and break down work into design deliverables, and tailor methods and processes to set timeboxes
Successful applicants will drive customer-centric approaches to service delivery; helping design and guide solutions to support multi-year projects that cut across different program areas, including transformation of the government’s Skills and Training programs and uplift of the Commonwealth’s Employment programs.
