Join Realscape Production's Front of House team in our season at the Civic Square at Canberra Theatre Centre featuring DARKFIELD with our two multi-sensory experiences - SÉANCE, and FLIGHT. Taking place inside purpose-built shipping containers where, using binaural audio, sensory deprivation and special effects, DARKFIELD audiences are placed centre of a narrative completely at odds with the space it occupies as our strange worlds unfold.
ABOUT REALSCAPE
Realscape Productions is a Melbourne-based company bringing to life productions that innovate beyond the stage, creating end-to-end experiences for audiences.
They specialise in immersive and site-specific productions and interactive events, including the Australian DARKFIELD Series and are hot off the heels of our inaugural season of ‘Future Cargo’ at Adelaide Fringe Festival’s Garden of Unearthly Delights.
FOH
The Front of House team ensures the efficient operation, sales, and ushering of the DARKFIELD experiences. The position requires persons with strong interpersonal and communicative skills, and a general interest/eagerness for the arts. Applicants should be very comfortable in talking to large groups of the general public.
Though it is not required, persons with technical experience in a similar role and/or general experience with in the performing arts and theatre environments are encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be on hand to ensure all guests and patrons have the most immersive and memorable experience.
- Provide customer service to DARKFIELD audiences, including the promotion and selling of tickets.
- Brief DARKFIELD audiences on certain safety procedures and adhere to those procedures accordingly.
- Usher DARKFIELD audiences in and out of the experience with health and safety and visitor experience at the forefront.
- Contribute to nightly reports on venue operations and attendance.
- Use ticketing systems and cross-platform messaging via a provided work phone.
Canberra Theatre Centre Season
The season at Civic Square will run from approx. 25th March – 14th April 2024. All applicants should be available for a compulsory training day on the 27th March.
Typically, the roster covers from 4pm – 10:30pm during weekdays with an earlier 2pm start on weekends.
The position will offer a range of casual positions with flexible schedules and hours to suit the ideal candidates.
It is important that you review both Realscape's and DARKFIELD's website prior to applying. Shows occur inside 40ft shipping containers for 20-25mins in total darkness and you must experience both shows as part of your training.
