Data Analyst

A long-term contract opportunity exists for a Data Analyst to join a digital transformation initiative to modernise business systems, enable online service delivery and support a mobile workforce by implementing new systems and decommissioning legacy systems.

The focus of this role will be to identify, design and implement the data strategy. Activities around data migration, data cleansing, and reporting will be required. You will also be working in an agile team environment along with other team members, solution architects, developers and Subject Matter Experts.

Responsibilities:

• Work with business, data and technical subject matter experts to identify, define, collate, document and communicate data migration requirements
• Translate and interpret system requirements that are in the form of Epics, Features and User Stories
• Work with the team to prepare data migration plans including migrating risks, milestones, quality and business sign-off details
• Undertake data profiling on in scope datasets, including identifying, analysis and remediation of data quality issues
• Create source to target mappings, understand & document complex transformation rules and identify data granularity and map entities to target application
• Implementing, where applicable, automated unit and functional tests
• Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan and schedule
• Perform source system data analysis in order to manage source to target data mappings
• Perform migration and testing of static data and transaction data from one core system to another
• Perform data migration audit, reconciliation and exception reporting.

Skill set required:

• Demonstrated experience performing similar roles in successful data migration projects, including data analysis, gathering and documenting data requirements, data migration business rules and development of complex data maps
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information across project teams and stakeholders with attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with Microsoft technologies, including Dataverse and Dynamics
• Strong understanding of and experience with cloud concepts, Azure DevOps, Azure Data
• Demonstrated experience working with Oracle Databases, particularly versions 12 - 18c, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL languages
• Experience in developing iterative/compounding migration routines to allow progressive build and test of the migration sequence
• Experience in an agile environment
