Job description

Melbourne Girls Grammar is seeking a knowledgeable and highly skilled Data and Systems Specialist to just our ICT team. Reporting to the Director of ICT, the Data and Systems Specialist is responsible for the ongoing development, maintenance, and support of the Student Management System (Synergetic), data integrations and associated data platforms and applications including:

  • Consent2Go
  • Orah
  • TrackOne
  • PowerBI
  • MS Query
  • Crystal Reports
  • MS SSRS

We’re looking for a subject matter expert on these applications who can leverage their expertise to guide and advise the school community on these applications. We’re seeking someone with a process mindset, and high-level communications skills – able to work with internal stakeholders to understand processes and improve them using data driven approaches. The successful candidate will be highly familiar with SQL server databases, with a strong understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance. The successful candidate will have advanced skills in the support, maintenance and development of Student Management Systems and experience with Synergetic will be highly regarded. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills are also fundamental to the role.

You'll be at the forefront of ensuring data integrity and accuracy within our Student Management System and related databases, collaborating closely with stakeholders to identify and address workflow inefficiencies. You'll lead the planning and coordination of system upgrades, employing diligent change management procedures and thoughtful communication strategies. Providing outstanding service, you'll keep stakeholders informed and their expectations managed, while working in tandem with our team and vendors to ensure applications meet stakeholder needs. Your responsibilities also encompass the development and maintenance of system and user documentation, planning and executing semester and new year rollovers, and managing data integrations.
