Phillip Riley has partnered with a leading renewable energy developer, investor and operator in its search for a Senior Data & Systems Specialist to join its Melbourne team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, capable, and experienced team which has a strong track record in the development and delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects.
You will be the go-to GIS analysis and mapping expert, responsible for provisioning, managing, and maintaining key GIS and site resource data across the business.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering and collaborating with development and engineering across the business, responsibilities will include:
- Supporting project design and asset management, through GIS analysis and mapping;
- Developing and implementing tools and systems for the efficient collection, use and analysis of technical data and information;
- Ensure all key data, drawings, and information are kept updated, accurate, and accessible for team members;
- Supporting preparation of annual budgets, and managing allocated
projects and budgets within agreed targets; - Establishing new data systems and processes and identifying opportunities to enhance GIS, data and information management systems;
- Communicate and collaborate effectively and respectfully with all teams across the business.
- Degree in computer science, IT, software engineering, or GIS;
- At least 10 years of experience in GIS and data systems management;
- Proficiency in industry standard GIS tools, including ArcGIS and QGIS;
- Good attention to detail and strong interpretive skills;
- Can-do attitude and a willingness to assist with administrative and/or wider business responsibilities where necessary;
- Confident self-starter with an ability to build fit-for-purpose data and information systems from scratch;
- Ability to work independent and take ownership of the role/function, being the sole GIS SME within the business;
- Excellent communication skills.
