We now have an opportunity for a Data Analyst/ Engineer to join our growing Professional Services team. This role requires someone that is willing to go above and beyond and embrace the challenge to take our organisation into the next chapter. You will be exposed to some of the most cutting-edge technologies and work on building state-of-the-art solutions. Your expertise in data analysis, data preparation, machine learning, and cloud technologies will be essential in unlocking the potential of our data assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Discovery:
- Conduct data discovery to identify valuable insights within large datasets.
- Perform in-depth data analysis to extract meaningful patterns and trends.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document data requirements.
- Prepare and pre-process data for analysis and Modeling.
- Create and maintain data models for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Implement data profiling, including data extraction, cleansing, and verification.
- Utilize ETL tools such as Snowflake, Talend, Five Tran
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to ensure data flows smoothly.
- Demonstrated experience working with some or all of the following: Databricks, pyspark (Notebooks), Data lake GEN 2, keyvault for secrets management. ACL (Access Controls List), Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory for data integration.
- DBT and/or SQL Mesh
Data Validation and Quality Assurance:
- Implement data validation processes using tools like Great Expectations
- Ensure data quality and accuracy through systematic verification.
Data Mining and Machine Learning:
- Apply data mining techniques to uncover valuable insights.
- Develop and implement machine learning models for both supervised and unsupervised learning scenarios.
- Conduct feature engineering to enhance model performance.
- Write complex SQL queries for various database systems, including Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB, and PL SQL.
- Utilize programming languages such as Python, R, Java, and C# to manipulate and analyze data.
- Worked with tools such as DBT for ETL
- o Manage code repositories using Git, including GitHub Actions, GitLab
Mandatory skills:
- 4+ years’ experience working as a Data Analyst/ Engineer working with experience on data projects.
- SDLC experience with focus on areas such as requirements gathering, analysis and initial discovery, with exposure to design, development/engineering or testing desirable.
- Good communicator, who can coordinate on projects and can deliver team and customer outcomes.
- Experience in presenting to key Clients and co-ordinating workshops.
- Intermediate SQL skills along with general database knowledge both (relational).
- Experience of working in either a Banking and Financial Services, Education or Insurance organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology.
- Any exposure to data analytics, data migration, business intelligence and data warehousing projects.
- Experience with functional testing (basic)
