Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer at Mantel Group, you will join a group of highly engaged technicians. You will work with us to design and build technology solutions. The work we do is broad but always focused on delivering the best outcome for our clients. Your work might range from building a full data platform with data pipelines and data warehouses; building scalable web applications on AWS; or implementing an observability stack on-premise.The perfect candidate for this role is able to solve complex, loosely scoped problems, and work towards a good solution for the client. You have a wide breadth of technological understanding as well as the ability to go deep as needed.Here a snapshot of what you'll be doing:? Solve complex, loosely scoped problems
? Provide technical leadership on one or more projects
? Actively code and manage technical quality for products, services and platforms
? Keep a keen focus on maintainability, security, and reliability
? Work with clients to understand their requirements, explain trade-offs for different options and ensure you deliver a solution that they value and will use
? Mentor and supervise junior engineers
? Work in different modes including independent technical delivery and as part of a team with others such as designers and analysts
? Help shape the technology strategy for companies of various sizesYou will thrive in this role if you:
? Have previously worked on medium to large scale software projects
? Have experience in at least one maintainable programming language: Typescript, Python, Java, Rust, etc
? Have an understanding of modern cloud-native development tools, e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure, Linux/BSD, Databases, CI/CD, Load Balancers, APIs, etc
? Understand how consulting engagements work
? Have an understanding of project accounting and consulting economics
? Passionate about the data space and have a continuous learning mindset
? Can collaborate effectively, not just with your immediate team, but with other people
? Have the ability to explain technical concepts regardless of the audience
? Don't shy away from accountability, and actively seek ownership of problems
