SalarySA State Government Agency looking for a Senior Data Engineer with technical cloud experience to work on a cloud related implementation projectOur client is a great South Australian State Government administration, committed to improving south Australian clinician healthcare services. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer with technical hands-on experience on cloud data experience (Data lakes, pipelines, etc) to contribute to the implementation of a 3-year exciting road map. There have several customisation and internal cloud enhancement projects that will require the ability to identify the best way to technical and business solutions outcomes and solve problems keeping the clinicians and staff in mind.
- 5 hours per day and 37.5 hours per week
- Adelaide CBD locations (2 days WFH allowed)
- Adelaide based candidates only. This role requires the candidate to be in the office every day due to critical hardware being based on different sites.
- $70 to $120 per hour base plus 11% superannuation on an hourly rate contract, 37.5 hours (15% casual loading included). The rate of pay is aligned with skills, experience, or expertise.
- Health Professionals and Support Services 2020 industry award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances and superannuation.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines within the Microsoft Azure environment.
- Utilize Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure services for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Implement and manage data warehousing solutions using Azure and Snowflake data management.
- Work with common healthcare data models, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as HL7, FHIR, and HIPAA.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to provide accessible, clean, and integrated data for advanced analytics.
- Optimize data storage and performance in Azure and Snowflake, managing both structured and unstructured data.
- Ensure data quality and integrity, implementing appropriate data governance and security measures.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data models, data flow diagrams, and ETL processes.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide data models and pipelines, using a broad range of modern platforms and technologies.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer on Microsoft Azure platforms.
- Expertise in SQL, Python, and other data processing languages.
- Strong knowledge of ETL techniques and tools, data modelling, and data warehousing.
- Experience working in a large, complex organisation and adhering to enterprise standards and policies.
- Comprehensive knowledge and grasp of technology solution design, particularly as it relates to the design of complex enterprise level system interfaces and data exchanges.
- Possess experience with database technologies, migration and/or integration and/or virtualisation and deployment methodologies.
- Extensive experience applying dimensional modelling principles to data structures.
- Proven experience in serving up data to a broad range of consumers (e.g., semantic layers, tools, data structures.)
- Strong understanding of information architecture, security, quality control and governance principles associated with enterprise data warehousing solutions.
- Possess exceptional quality written and verbal skills particularly the development of project documentation.
- Possess excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and experience.
- Experience with healthcare data models and familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulations.
- Awareness of Healthcare industry and clinical processes.
