The Data Sync team is responsible for developing integrations and data pipelines to either ingest data into our warehouse platform (Snowflake) or to export data from the warehouse to internal or external systems (reverse-ETL). These pipelines are replicated across the Data Platform, facilitating the setup of new instances and providing a self-service experience for the warehouse users.About the roleThis role ensures that we continuously build, optimise and evolve our Data Platform and tooling capabilities to enable the Data Platform users to efficiently and effectively self-serve and implement scalable data solutions to deliver significant value to the business and the best design experience to our customers.We are looking for a talented Data Engineer who can take on the task of designing, developing, and productionize ingress and egress data pipelines. You'll be involved in all stages of SDLC and exploring opportunities for continuous improvement in performance, robustness and reliability.What you could be working onThe diversity of solutions ranges from full built-in ELT pipelines running within our AWS ecosystem, to with 3rd party SaaS platforms, and covers over a thousand of datasets ingested into or exported from the warehouse.

- Develop solutions to extract and load data from different data storages like MySQL and DynamoDB, making Canva product data quickly available for analysis.

- Explore the vast tech ecosystem of Canva engineering to determine what resources can be used or which ones need to be built.
- Design services and tools to be served within the platform portfolio, aiming for improved user experience and efficient outcomes.
- Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Engage with various archetypes of users to understand their needs within Canva context, and design end-to-end solutions aiming for self-service capabilities.
- Closely collaborate with and support Product Managers, Technical Program Managers and other key stakeholders to ensure priority, delivery and practice alignment.
- You have strong experience in Data Platform Engineering/data warehouses.
- You are experienced in major cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
- You have solid experience in software engineering & operation with hands-on experience in SQL and a solid understanding of CI/CD.
- You have experience operating/supporting a Data Platform (e.g. production support, incidents response, platform monitoring, reliability uplift).
- You have hands-on experience with Data Platform tooling, preferably with: AWS, Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, Terraform, Containers, BuildKite, SQL, Python, Atlan, Mode and Looker.
