As a Platform Engineer you’ll excel in designing and implementing complex cloud-based systems, focusing on automation and continuous integration in intricate environments. You’ll proactively ensure that their solutions align with broader strategic goals, emphasizing scalability, resilience, and long-term viability. Driven by a bias towards action, you’ll leverage your expertise to create robust and future-proof platforms.
What you’ll do
- Drive the delivery, engineering decisions, and platform solutions to align with long-term strategic architectural vision
- Ensure platforms, systems, and services are engineered for resilience and scalability to achieve service objectives
- Identify, develop, and implement automation or optimization opportunities, focusing on cost, availability, and performance
- Lead large-scale platform and service implementations from inception to production, maintaining quality documentation and procedures for ongoing support
- Share knowledge and collaborate with team members to maximize skills and capabilities
- Simplify processes while driving innovation, supporting continuous improvement, and enabling teams to adapt quickly to changes
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
- AWS Associate or Professional Certification is highly desirable
- At least 8 years of industry experience in large enterprise organizations
- Strong scripting skills, particularly with Python, and extensive experience with cloud services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing abilities
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and trends, work collaboratively in innovative team environments, and lead through transformational changes
