About The role

The Azure Data Platform Engineer will play a key role in managing and enhancing our data integration processes, maintaining the integrity and security of our data, and providing vital support in data analytics and reporting, particularly through Power BI. 

Other key responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for managing and optimizing Azure Data Factories, ensuring efficient data integration and transformation processes. Oversee the administration and performance tuning of Azure SQL databases and services.
• Ability to debug and support Azure Functions code as part of an Azure Data Platform and provide expertise in data warehousing solutions, particularly within the Azure environment.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand data needs and implement appropriate data models. Assist in the design and deployment of scalable and secure data storage solutions in Azure.
• Monitor Data Platform performance, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability and offer technical support and guidance in the use of Power BI for data analytics and visualisation.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data workflows, ETL processes, and data models. 
• Implement data governance and compliance measures in line with organisational and regulatory standards.
• Utilize Azure DevOps to perform tasks such as setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure resources, and troubleshooting issues in the application or deployment processes.
• Experience in accessing and loading data using Python and APIs. Manage vendor relationships related to Azure data services and tools.

  About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in data management, cloud computing, or specifically in Microsoft Azure technologies would be highly advantageous.
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in managing and implementing Azure data services.
• Azure Data Engineer Associate or other relevant Azure certifications are highly desirable. Additional certifications in data analytics, business intelligence tools like Power BI, or project management would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of coding & programming concepts across multiple languages including T-SQL, Python, and DAX.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and practices, including experience with ETL processes, data modelling, and data integration.
• Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights, supporting data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in managing projects effectively, including planning, execution, and monitoring of project timelines and deliverables.
