As a highly motivated Data Science Engineer with a strong foundation in software and/or data engineering, you'll support the Leader of AI/ML in the automation of our feature engineering pipelines and workflow processes.
You'll be instrumental in ensuring a fully automated build, test, and deployment lifecycle for features, models, and pipeline components.

Day to day:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for data processing tasks, including feature engineering, data preparation, and transformation
  • Design and manage a scalable, robust set of tools and libraries to support advanced data operations such as time-series data analysis, data wrangling, munging, and cleansing.
  • Implement state-of-the-art Featurestore within Azure Databricks or AzureML, adhering to industry-leading practices in data management and scalability
  • Develop and support highly scalable data systems and services, with a focus on Python
  • Facilitate close collaboration with data scientists to define requirements and monitor the progression of projects, ensuring effective communication and alignment with project goals
  • Innovate in the area of machine learning model deployment and scaling, ensuring seamless integration into production environments
  • Utilise Change Data Capture (CDC) techniques and vector database technologies to enhance real-time data processing and analysis capabilities
  • Apply CI/CD tools, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms to streamline development and deployment processes
  • Promote and implement software development methodologies and best practices to ensure high-quality and efficient production workflows
  • Uphold strict compliance standards to safeguard intellectual property, digital assets, and customer privacy
Skills required:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Data Science & Engineering, with a proven track record of developing and managing complex data pipelines
  • A degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related discipline like Data Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Deep expertise in Databricks, Apache Spark, including Delta Lake, and proficiency in Spark SQL.
  • Solid experience with Kubernetes, developing with Docker containers in cloud computing environments, and familiarity with Azure or other public cloud providers
  • Knowledgeable in alerts, monitoring, and observability
  • Skilled in GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools and platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with vector databases, offering an understanding of their advantages in handling complex queries and similarity searches.
  • Familiarity with various foundation models, such as LLAMA, Mistral, etc
  • Proficient in implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) techniques to efficiently process and analyse changing data in real-time.
  • Familiarity with AzureML (or similar), GitOps, Airflow, Feast, and Kafka
