An opportunity is available to join this rapidly growing business as a Data Scientist. The Data Scientist will create and maintain code with a view to streamlining and automating processes. We are looking for someone with strong problem solving and coding skills, familiar with the scientific process and infinitely inquisitive and curious.
Key Competencies:
- Ability to code in R and Python along with a proven track record of good coding practice.
- Understanding of math/physics/geology/chemistry desirable but not essential.
- A background in Statistics and data science preferred.
- Fix bugs and addressing issues in legacy code.
- Good time estimation and time management skills
- Documenting existing architecture and features in legacy code.
- Ability to problem solve and be a self-starter. This role requires some self-guidance with very little oversight.
- High levels of curiosity.
- Team player
- Software architecture design.
- Data QA/QC.
- Testing QA/QC.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/maths/physics/geology/chemistry.
- Background or exposure to geology and geospatial principles is helpful.
