We are seeking a talented and driven Data Scientist to join our team focused on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Document Understanding. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge technologies to develop, implement, and optimize AI/ML models for document processing and understanding, contributing to our mission of automating and improving document workflows. Successful candidates must be Australian citizens currently residing in Australia, with a preference for having an active AGSVA security clearance
Here are some of the duties you will perform:
- Develop and implement machine learning models for document understanding tasks including OCR, entity extraction, classification, and summarization.
- Utilise OCI services to build scalable and efficient AI solutions.
- Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets of documents from various sources.
- Implement data augmentation techniques to enhance model performance.
- Research and implement state-of-the-art algorithms for document understanding.
- Optimise existing models to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to define and deliver solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Design and conduct experiments to evaluate model performance.
- Monitor models in production and implement enhancements based on feedback and performance metrics.
What makes you a great fit?
- Proven experience (3+ years) in machine learning, data science, and document understanding.
- Experience with OCI and its AI/ML services is highly preferred.
- Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages.
- Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Experience with NLP and computer vision techniques.
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
